CARD Donors

On behalf of all the riders, volunteers, staff and horses, thank you!

To all the wonderful people and organizations who have donated their time and money in support of a truly remarkable therapeutic riding program, we appreciate your generosity and friendship.

CARD would like to formally recognize those organizations who have donated more than $10,000 in support of CARD's therapeutic riding program.

Ontario Trillium Foundation

CARD graciously acknowledges the significant financial support received from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the Ministry of Culture that receives annually $100 million of government funding generated through Ontario's charity casino initiative. Through the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation this year, CARD will be able to replace the 30-year old roof on its therapeutic riding centre to ensure a safe, healthy environment for all disabled riders. CARD's therapeutic riding program serves the entire GTA, improves the lives of children and adults with disability, and is delivered on-site. The replacement of the roof will guarantee riding conditions in the arena, eliminate costly repairs to arena heaters (which help improve the flexibility and mobility of CARD's disabled riders), and ensure consistent footing for CARD's special therapy horses, reducing the risk of stress and injury. CARD would like to thank the Ontario Trillium Foundation for its generous contribution.

With Bloorview's help each year, CARD puts on a summer therapeutic riding program designed to engage children and adults with disabilities using the horse as a therapy tool. In addition to participating in the therapeutic riding program, riders benefit from ground work with the horses, and participate in a variety of planned activities designed to stimulate and develop physical strength and cognitive ability.

Brew Some Good

CARD is deeply grateful to Kraft brand Maxwell House's Brew Some Good campaign. The campaign, celebrating Maxwell House's reformulated 100% Arabica bean coffee, rewards Canada's top "do-gooders" with a $10,000 charitable donation to support their cause and to help them continue their good work and community contributions. Maxwell House's donation goes directly to support CARD's special herd of therapy horses by covering the cost of veterinary care for one year.
