The Facility

The CARD program started in 1969, when it was run out of a private stable north of Toronto. In 1979, with the enthusiastic support of North York Mayor Mel Lastman, CARD moved to its permanent home in the heart of beautiful G. Ross Lord Park, just north of Finch on Dufferin Street. The facility is accessible by transit, wheel-trans, car, bus and horse van!

CARD is a fully dedicated therapeutic riding centre, and the program is delivered on-site. Our facility in G. Ross Lord Park is fully accessible, and includes a three paddocks, administrative offices and lounge, a 19-horse barn with wash stall, a tack room and a heated indoor arena. In the summer, CARD riders benefit from trail rides through G. Ross Lord Park as part of their therapy.
